Photo: Getty Images/StockSpark has been given new hope - and Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern a fresh headache - with the surprise news that the British government has given Huawei the green light to help roll out 5G mobile network upgrades. 'Not a ban' - LittleEarlier, GCSB Minister Andrew Little said there was no ban on Huawei per se. 5G mobile network technology offers more bandwidth than today's 4G networks, allowing more people (or gadgets) to connect to a cell tower and at much faster speeds. Our government will have to auction 5G spectrum before Spark, Vodafone and 2degrees can upgrade their mobile networks to 5G.
