A senior official at the foreign ministry told bdnews24.com that British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson would make a two-day visit to Bangladesh from Feb 9. The foreign ministry earlier on Tuesday announced the visit of a high-powered European Parliament delegation in the second week of this month, following a meeting of the EU ambassador in Dhaka with the foreign minister. A senior official told bdnews24.com that the delegation can comprise as many as 17 MPs of the European Parliament. Bangladesh has been under the international spotlight since it began sheltering in Cox’s Bazar nearly 700, 000 Rohingyas, who have fled ‘ethnic cleansing’ in Myanmar since Aug 25 last year. Indonesian President Joko Widodo was the latest leader to have visited Cox’s Bazar this week.
