The rise in cases comes amid growing fears the lifting of lockdown on June 21 will be delayed. Daily infections crept above 3,000 for the first time since April 12 on May 26, when 3,180 were reported. "If you look at the costs and benefits of getting it wrong, I think it is heavily in favour of delay."
