GettyValentina Shevchenko defended her UFC Women's Flyweight title with style on Saturday night in Chicago. After a dominant first round with her ground game, she destroyed challenger Jessica Eye with a left high kick that left the challenger unconscious for several minutes. She hugged her fallen opponent and put off her signature celebratory dance until after Eye had left the Octagon. The bout was Shevchenko's first defense of her title after she won it via unanimous decision over Joanna Jedrzejczyk in December 2018. It also earned Shevchenko one of the Performance of the Night bonuses, which gives the champion an additional $50,000.
