Ben Askren won his UFC debut on Saturday night when he scored a submission victory over former champion Robbie Lawler in a thrilling one-round brawl. Askren somehow weathered an early storm from Lawler that included a massive slam and several hard punches to the face. As Lawler tried to get to his feet, he gave up his back, and Askren looked for the rear-naked choke. Askren says Dean asked Lawler if he was OK, and didn't get a response. We can't hear the Octagon audio, but Askren claims Dean verbally asked Lawler if he was OK. Askren says Lawler didn't respond.
