The Governing Council of the University of Education, Winneba, has directed the managment of the school to reopen on Monday April 8,2019. The University has been shut for close to three weeks following an impasse between some lecturers and the Vice Chancellor Professor Afful-Broni which sparked students protest. The council has further reinstated the three lecturers who were sacked by the Vice Chancellor after some disagreements. Meanwhile, the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) has called for the immediate resignation of the Chairman of the governing council of the University of Education Winneba, Professor Nicholas Abakah.
