As it stands, January signings are not permitted to play for a second club in the Champions League or Europa League if they have already featured in that competition. It means Arsenal have not been allowed to field former Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in their run to the Europa League quarter-finals. Barcelona too were affected, as they were unable to field Philippe Coutinho for their Champions League knockout games after he played earlier in the competition for Liverpool. As it stands, all Champions League games kick off at 7.45pm, although UEFA can make exceptions to this rule. Europa League matches, from the group stage until the last 16, will kick off at 5.55pm and 8pm.
