UCOL students Kate Blackwell, left, Beatrice Petty and Amber Fielder-Beaumont will consider voting for new student representatives. The students’ association at Palmerston North-based polytech UCOL has received an overhaul. Students at UCOL, which also has campuses in Levin, Whanganui and Masterton, were previously represented by the Association of Students at UCOL. But a new association, called the Student Association at UCOL, is the new student body and voting is open on new representatives until the end of the week. Schep said it was important to have a students’ association, because some tertiary institutions didn’t take the student voice into account.
