In a rejoinder to a publication in the Daily Graphic newspaper of Monday October 1, 2018, the university’s management said the headline was misleading. As an example of the breaches that could lead them into trouble, he reminded the students of the time-honoured requirement to obtain permission before embarking on processions or risk rustication as enshrined in the student’s handbook. “He never in any way implied that processions had been banned,” Major Baah-Bentum (retd) wrote in the rejoinder. “He mentioned other critical issues such as taking their studies seriously and being security conscious.”“The story has embarrassed the management and the entire university community and we will appreciate it if the records are set straight.
