ISLAMABAD: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Saturday expressed support for Pakistan amid tensions with India following the Pulwama attack in Kashmir. The car bomb attack was reportedly claimed by militant group Jaish-e-Mohammad and carried out by a 20-year-old Kashmiri youth. India has accused Pakistan of facilitating the attack as tensions between the two countries escalated and India announced it would withdraw Pakistan’s ‘Most Favoured Nation’ status. UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan telephoned Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and discussed the evolving regional and international situation. Appreciating Pakistan’s position, the UAE foreign minister said he is looking forward to meeting Qureshi at the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers Meeting.
