UAE raises $18m fund for Rohingyas


The ERC launched the campaign, supported by all the UAE leaders, under thedirectives of its President Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. From the beginning of the Rohingya crisis, UAE has extended its supports to emergency relief for food, shelter, health to Rohingya women and children inBangladesh. The UAE is also providing health services for the Rohingya people in Bangladesh through the UAE Bangladesh Volunteer Field Hospital in Cox’s Bazaras the first Arab country to run a field hospital for theRohingyas, said the release. A Malaysian-Saudi-Emirati field hospital with the UAE donated modern equipment was also set up in Cox’s Bazar in early 2018. The embassy of UAE in Dhaka is closely monitoring all relief activitiesoperated by different UAE organizations from the very beginning of theRohingya crisis, said the release.
