Coaches and players expressed their opinions and emotions regarding the cancellation of the rest of University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 82. “(With) the ECQ having been extended, the conditions for the resumption of UAAP Season 82 can no longer be met. But again, we need to respect the decision of the government to extend the community quarantine for the safety of the people,” Merida told The Manila Times in an online interview. Multi-titled coach Hans-Peter Smit of the De La Salle University women’s football team also supported the decision. “Nevertheless, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you, our fans, partners, student-athletes, coaches and all other members of the UAAP community.”
