Traders described an uneasy calm in the stock market following a string of losses. The Stoxx Europe 600 banks index rose 4.1%, led by Italian lenders, after retracing its February lows earlier this week. U.S. stocks fell Friday, capping off a rocky week when traders focused on the consequences of the coming U.K. vote on whether to stay in the European Union. Wall Street snapped a five-session losing streak on Thursday after official campaigning for the June 23 U.K. vote was temporarily suspended following the killing of British lawmaker Jo Cox. “There’s not a whole lot of significant data between now and the vote next Thursday.”ENLARGE The S&P 500 stock index is on track to end the week with losses.
