The University of Manitoba has reached a tentative deal with its faculty, who have been on strike for 20 days. Mark Hudson, the president of the University of Manitoba Faculty Association, confirmed the deal. University of Manitoba spokesman John Danakas said he wouldn't comment on the deal until members of the faculty association have a chance to view it. The faculty association, which represents professors, instructors and librarians has been on strike since Nov. 1 and has been demanding higher pay, less workloads, and better job protections for its members. "I'd be lying if I said there wasn't a bit of reticence in my feelings there because it is a tentative deal," Noyes said.
