Last month's increase was driven by higher meat prices and bigger margins at wholesalers. Core producer prices, which exclude volatile food and energy categories, also rose 0.3% in July from the prior month, following a 0.1% decrease in June. Supplier prices rose 0.8% in July from a year earlier, the Labor Department said. The CPI rose a modest 0.2% in July from the prior month, the same as in June, the Labor Department said Thursday.
