More American states reported record high tallies of coronavirus infections on Sunday, further straining health care resources, as the country struggled to contain the fast-spreading pandemic that has infected nearly 3.8 million people in the U.S. and over 14 million world-wide. North Carolina, Louisiana and Kentucky reported record case counts of 2,400, 3,119 and 979 respectively on Sunday. Arizona experienced a record high of 147 deaths linked to the virus.
