U.S Releases Ksh154.2 Billion Food Aid Kitty For Kenya, Ethiopia & Somalia


Kenya is set to get a share of Ksh.154.2 billion that has been released by the United States to mitigate prolonging drought and food crisis. While making the announcement on Monday, July 18, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Samantha Power stated that the food programme kitty will benefit over 18 million civilians drawn from Kenya, Somalia and Ethiopia. "Today I announced an additional $1.3 billion in humanitarian and development assistance to respond to the threat of famine in the Horn of Africa. Cattle from six counties that have been affected by the drought arrive at the Kenya Meat Commission on February 8, 2017.
