Here are the main takeaways from the National Association of Realtors' report released Wednesday:--The Pending Home Sales Index, a leading indicator of home sales based on contract signings, rose 0.9% to 77.6 in July. --Pending home sales increased in two of the four major U.S. regions in July from June, the South and West. In the other two regions, the Northeast and Midwest, pending sales declined.
