After many complaints about the television view of the new Louis Armstrong Stadium, the U.S. Tennis Association and ESPN have come up with a solution: Rip out 16 seats from the stadium and add a lower camera. The change had been discussed since Monday afternoon, after scores of tennis fans joked on social media that matches looked like they were being broadcast from a helicopter or blimp. By Wednesday morning, the new camera was up, seven feet below the spot that created all the high views. “We didn’t want to wait a year, we wanted to make this change in real time,” said USTA spokesman Chris Widmaier. “We believe that this has had a major effect on the television viewing angle and at this point we’re satisfied.”
