U.S. Consumer Confidence Climbed in April

A measure of U.S. consumer confidence rose in April, partly driven by a sunnier short-term outlook. The Conference Board on Tuesday said its index of U.S. consumer confidence, based on consumers’ assessment of current business and labor market conditions, increased to 129.2 this month from 124.2 in March. A separate index tracking consumers’ short-term outlook on income, business and labor-market conditions rose to 103 from 98.3.
