A small majority of U.S. business travelers – 55% - are optimistic that new and emerging technologies – most notably algorithm-driven artificial intelligence, or AI – will make their future travel experiences better. Those are the most notable results of the fourth annual Egencia Business Travel and Technology Survey, which drew responses from 4,521 business travelers in nine nations. Egencia provides corporations travel booking, travel program management, travel vendor negotiating, and travel policy consulting services to corporations. It’s not clear whether U.S. business travelers inherently are more optimistic than business travelers from the rest of the world about the role technology will play in improving their business travel experiences in the future. Indeed, the Egencia survey revealed that 76% of U.S. business travelers want – demand, actually – greater ability to manage their travel experiences using not just one, but multiple technology platforms.
