U.S. Business Inventories' Growth Slowed in April

Business inventories rose 1.2% in April after advancing a revised 2.4% in March, according to data from the U.S. Commerce Department released Wednesday. Inventories rose by 2.2% at wholesalers, by 0.7% at retailers and by 0.6% at manufacturers, the report said. The inventory-sales ratio stood at 1.29 in April, up from 1.28 in March and from 1.26 a year earlier.
