The Prime Minister's Office said in statement that Williamson had been asked to leave the cabinet following an investigation into the "unauthorised disclosure of information" from the U.K.'s National Security Council. Williamson is the first cabinet minister in living memory to be sacked for leaking. Williamson had come under scrutiny during the leak investigation as one of five ministers to vote against the decision to approve Huawei at the U.K.'s top security council.
