The Masked Singer singing competition series has been remade in over a dozen countries throughout the globe since South Korean broadcaster MBC originated The King of Mask Singer in 2015. The news of the U.K. signing onto the televised singing phenomena follows the launch of Fox’s The Masked Singer in the U.S. in 2019. The Masked Singer is one of the most popular South Korean television exports internationally, but far from the only one.
