Some fight fans might have been disappointed when it was revealed that welterweight champion Tyron Woodley would face Kamaru Usman instead of Colby Covington in his next title defense, but Woodley feels those fans shouldn’t be too discouraged. “I just recognized that at some point I’m gonna fight all these guys,” Woodley told TMZ. So I’m gonna go out there and fight Kamaru Usman and we’ll see what happens after that. Covington has been waiting for a shot at Woodley since Covington defeated Rafael Dos Anjos in June 2018. Covington has gone as far as to ask to be released from his contract if he doesn’t get a shot at the welterweight title.
