Typhoon fighter jets came within 100 feet of a high-speed collision at RAF base

Two Typhoon fighter jets came within 100 feet of a high-speed collision as they came in to land at RAF Lossiemouth. The space between the two jets was just 80 feet vertically and 190 feet horizontally as they approached the military airfield in Moray, Scotland, in December last year. The second Typhoon pilot said he was returning to Lossiemouth when he suffered radar problems. He began a climb while at the same time seeing another aircraft - his leader - directly in his previously planned flightpath. The first Typhoon pilot said he was following another pair of Typhoons (Typhoons A and B).
