Typhoon ‘Onyok’ slightly intensifies

MANILA, Philippines — Typhoon “Onyok” slightly intensified on Monday afternoon while on its way out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported. ADVERTISEMENTThe typhoon continues to move north at a speed of 20 kph and is expected to exit PAR on Monday night or early Tuesday morning, Pagasa said. Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal Number 1 is still raised over Batanes and Babuyan Islands as the typhoon’s rainbands are expected to continue to bring occasional light to moderate wit intermittent heavy rains. Gale warning is raised over Cagayan, Isabela, northern coast of Ilocos Norte, Pagasa said. “Sea travel is risky, especially for small seacrafts, over the northern and eastern seaboards of Northern Luzon, including the areas under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal #1, due to potentially rough sea conditions,” Pagasa said.
