Two women fly the flag for independents in Sibu, Lanang - Metro News

SIBU: Two women — a lawyer and a businesswoman — from the independent Sarawak Peace Party (SPP) will be contesting in Sibu and Lanang in the general election. The duo are lawyer Priscilla Lau, 49, who will stand in Sibu while businesswoman Jamie Tiew, 48, is going for the Lanang seat. “We are a group of true Sarawakians who have formed the United Borneo Alliance (UBA) with Parti Bangsa Dayak Sarawak Baru (PBDSB), United Sabah Alliance, Sabah People’s Hope Party, and Sabah United Party,” she said. Priscilla contested the Palawan state seat in the 2016 state election on the Sarawak Reform Party (Star) ticket and garnered only 595 votes. “Alice may be a good representative but her heart is now in Melaka, after she married a local there,” Lau said.
