The two girls said they did not file the case earlier because the accused threatened them in various ways including deaths. He said the girls were invited to a birthday party at Banani's The Raintree Hotel on Mar 28. Safat and Nayeem confined them in a room of the hotel and raped them overnight, the girls alleged in the case. Matin said the accused threatened the victims with death if they informed the law enforcers. The inspector said he visited the hotel and the police were now trying to arrest the accused.
