Two town officials ordered suspendedBacolod City — The Office of the Ombudsman –Visayas has ordered for the suspension of the vice mayor and treasurer of Valladolid town, Negros Occidental, for grave misconduct. Concepcion alleged that the two officials gave preference to JB Nieve Hardware and Construction Supply, which is owned by the family of the in-laws of Yogore. Concepcion said the municipal government paid JB Nieve Hardware P288,271.88 for supplies and materials in nine transactions from January 25 May 31, 2010. It lacked the resolutions of the Bids and Awards Committee for recommending shopping as the alternative mode of procurement for the materials.
