Two suspects in Cumilla councillor killing case die in 'gunfight'Two suspects in the double-murder case of Cumilla City Corporation ward councillor Syed Md Sohel and his associate Haripada Saha died in a so-called “shootout” with the police. The dead, identified as Sabbir Hossain, 28, and Shajon, 32, are listed as suspects in the case documents. Officer Anwarul said they are preparing a case over the ‘suspects’ who escaped from the gunfight. On November 22, some masked assailants attacked a cement shop belonging to Ward 17 Councillor Syed Md Sohel in the Pathuriapara area of Cumilla. Sohel’s brother, Syed Md Rumon, filed the murder case a day after Sohel and Haripada were killed.
