Olaleye Aluko and Godwin IsenyoAn officer of the Nigerian Army, a soldier and 21 bandits have been killed in a gun battle between bandits and troops in Tunga Daji community in the Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State. This is as bandits attacked Sarari village in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State and killed a 60-year-old monarch and five others. Gen. Texas Chukwu, confirmed the deaths of the army officer, soldier and the bandits, but did not give the name of the deceased military men. The army spokesman said the troops were still combing the area to arrest the fleeing bandits. “Similarly, troops deployed in Bena acted on a tip-off and conducted a raid operation on a bandits’ camp in Laka Village of Kebbi State and killed one of the bandits.
