The angry youth reportedly locked up the District Chief Executive (DCE), Nana Okyere Tawiah in his office and also blocked roads amid the burning of tyres. The Police who arrived on the volatile situation fired teargas and warning shots before being able to set free the lockedup DCE. A court ruling in 2012 directed the relocation of the capital and authorities have instituted measures to abide by the ruling. Deputy Ashanti regional police commander DCOP Fred Adu Anim confirmed the deaths to Ultimate Fm’ Isaac Bediako.
