Two seriously injured after head-on SH1 crash near TimaruGOOGLE MAPS Two cars crashed between Arowhenua Station Road and Arowhenua Rd about 6.18pm on Monday, closing part of the road. Two people are seriously injured in hospital after a two-car collision on State Highway 1, just north of Timaru. A St John's spokesperson said two people were transferred to Timaru Hospital in a serious condition. The crash, which occurred near Arowhenua Station Rd, had blocked part of the Timaru-Temuka Highway for several hours. A Fire Service spokesman said a firefighter from Geraldine helped out by driving an ambulance to Timaru Hospital.
