Two rafters are stranded after falling from their boat east of Queenstown today. A police spokeswoman said officers were called to Rafters Rd, off the Gibbston Highway, after two men in their 20s fell into the Kawarau River. They made it to the bank 1km south of the road, but were stuck there. This was likely because it was to steep to climb up, she said. The men were waiting to be rescued, she said.
