A jilted man made good on this threat to murder his roommate before killing himself in a midtown Toronto apartment last month, police confirmed Monday. Geleta, her boyfriend and Daba were all from an Ethiopian village and were sharing the apartment. Geleta had a brief relationship with Daba but told him it was over and that she and her boyfriend would move out. Geleta told her boyfriend about the threat — but “neither believed he would do it,” homicide Det. On Oct. 26, her boyfriend went to work, and when he was unable to contact Geleta, he called police.
