Two people arrested repackaging expired rice in Nairobi storeA police raid at a godown in Kariobangi South, Nairobi County unearthed a scheme where expired rice was being repackaged to dupe unsuspecting Kenyans. Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) found the expired rice at the godown that has been trading as Kimende Stores. The officers said they found several suspects repackaging the rice into new bags bearing expiry dates from June 2019 to 2021. Among the arrested was the godown’s manager and another worker with the police seeking more suspects, including the owner of the godown. Last year, police arrested two people who were repackaging expired wheat flour in Dandora, Nairobi.
