After the first day with no COVID-19 fatalities since early in the pandemic, Ontario is reporting two new coronavirus deaths. So far, 1,559,529 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in Ontario since January. According to the provincial tally, which lags behind the Star’s daily afternoon survey of local health units, there are 36,060 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ontario with 31,603 resolved. On Monday, Ontario reported no deaths for the first time since March 23. Overall, 28 of Ontario’s 34 public health units are reporting five or fewer cases, with fully 23 of them reporting no new cases at all.
