Two motorcycle drivers charged after traffic stop in North Dumfries


NORTH DUMFRIES — Officers from the Waterloo Regional Police Direct Action Response Team have charged two people after a traffic stop in North Dumfries. Around 6 p.m. April 15 police conducted a traffic stop in the area of Northumberland Street and Greenfield Drive in North Dumfries. Through investigation police learned neither driver had the proper class of licence and both motorcycles were deemed to be unsafe to be operated on a highway. A 34-year-old female and 28-year-old male, both from North Dumfries. were charged with several Highway Traffic Act offences, including:Driving a motor vehicle — improper licence;Using a plate not authorized for motor vehicle;Operating an unsafe vehicle;Improper helmet;Operating a motor vehicle with no insurance.
