DEHRADUN: Two people succumbed to the H1N1 influenza in the Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust in Dehradun on Thursday. With the two deaths, the total count has gone up to eight, of which six are from Dehradun.Of the two people who died of Swine flu, one is from Rishikesh and the other is from Haridwar.Meanwhile, another person has tested positive for Swine flu in the state, taking the toll to 27.While both patients died in a private hospital, the health department is yet to receive a final confirmatory report from the National Centre for Diseases Control Laboratory, Delhi.“Two patients have succumbed to an infection but central laboratory is yet to confirm it. Hence, we are not in a position to comment on the deaths. Although the test in the private hospital and the symptoms which the patients showed were closely linked to swine flu, so we are assuming that H1N1 influenza caused the deaths,” said a senior doctor from the health department.Till now, of the 27 patients that tested positive for Swine flu, 18 are from Dehradun, six are from other districts and three are from outside the state.
