The latest infections come just as it was announced by the government that Defence and Military Veterans minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula has recovered from Covid-19. South Africa is now experiencing a runaway surge in coronavirus cases which now stand at 337,594 and 4,804 deaths. Deputy minister of Social Development Hendrietta Bogopane-Zulu is recovering in isolation after testing positive while Nkosi Holomisa, the deputy minister of Justice and Correctional Services has recovered.
