Two militants killed in encounter in Pakistan


Two militants were gunned down today by security forces after a fierce encounter in a forest bordering South Waziristan Agency in northwest Pakistan, police said. District Police Officer Rasul Shah said that the law enforcement agencies were informed by the intelligence sources about the presence of wanted militants near a forest on the outskirts of Tank district. The encounter later culminated in the killing of both the militants, he said. DPO said that both the militants were wanted by Dera Ismail Khan police in several heinous crimes. Meanwhile, police today recovered the bullet-ridden body of a peace activist near Bhtyari water channel in the limits of Gomal Bazar police station.
