Two-metre python caught at Sandakan construction site

KOTA KINABALU: A two-metre-long python was captured at a construction site in Sandakan on Thursday afternoon (March 26). In the incident, a construction worker noticed the reptile near Taman Harmoni, Batu 3, close to where he was working, and immediately alerted his co-workers and the authorities for help. Sandakan Civil Defence officials responded to the call and arrived with the necessary equipment to capture the 10kg snake. They managed to secure it safely in a sack, and no person or animal was injured during the operation. The operation concluded with officials reminding the public not to take action on their own when encountering wildlife, and to alert the authorities for assistance instead.
