Masks won’t even be legally required in hospitals and care homes or on public transport despite soaring new cases. However there are at a number of major Covid problems that Mr Johnson has yet to resolve when he made his announcement at a Downing Street conference on Monday evening. Here we look at two of the issues surround the coronavirus regulations that still need be addressed. Transport Secretary Grant Shapps will make an announcement with further details later this week, but there’s no confirmed date.
