The fire also wounded three people including an unnamed elderly neighbour, who reportedly went into the building to rescue the occupants, choked due to the smoke and was in a serious condition in a hospital. Police and firefighters rushed to the scene, an accounting company office’s building on Bangkok-Nonthaburi Road, after being informed at 1am. The fire, reportedly broke out at 1am on the building’s second floor before spreading to the third and fourth levels. Bang Sue district office director Kuljira Sasukhawat said the building, built in 1990, still retained a lot of heat even though the blaze had been extinguished. She said a fire engine would remain on standby to deal with any smouldering fires until forensic officers arrive for inspections on Monday.
