Two intruder incidents shock victims

Julie Simpson was woken by a loud "racket'' about 3.45am in the Weston-Ngapara Rd home, inland from Oamaru. Ms Simpson said she and her partner went to bed about two hours before the rude awakening. Ms Simpson said the shock of the experience only started to set in when she left her home for the first time. The victims were later taken to Oamaru Hospital, where they were treated for moderate injuries. Detective Sergeant Hannah Booth, of Oamaru, said police were investigating both incidents and at this stage, there was no evidence to suggest they were linked.
