An early-morning fire in Fairfax County injured two people, officials said Sunday. The fire erupted about 5:30 a.m. Sunday at a residence in the 6300 block of Villa Lane in Falls Church, Fairfax County fire officials said. It was unknown if high winds, observed around the region Sunday, contributed to the fire’s spread. Officials said firefighters were issued a safety warning alerting them that high winds could affect fire flow and threaten the integrity of ladders outside. The Washington region is under a Red Flag Warning for high winds and low humidity, meaning fires can quickly spread and become difficult to contain.
