Two people died and a third was injured in a crash near Tekapo yesterday. The two-car crash was on State Highway 8 about 5.15pm, between Hayman and Tekapo Canal Rds. Police in Timaru want to hear from anyone who saw a silver 2017 Toyota Highlander travelling north before the crash, or anyone who saw the crash. Last night, the road was closed between Godleys Peaks and Mt Cook Rds until further notice. A St John spokesman said a patient had been taken to Timaru Hospital with moderate injuries.
