Two dormitories were burnt down at Givole secondary school in Vihiga county on Wednesday evening following a fire whose cause is yet to be established. It was not clear whether the group was inside affected dormitories, a situation that caused panic in the little known school. At least 11 students were rushed to Vihiga referral hospital with injuries sustained during the incident. Education CS Fred Matiang'i has asked school boards to sit with students and discuss how to deal with grievances that might be fueling the fires. This becomes the sixth school to be razed within a span of one week after five others caught fire in circumstances related to student unrests in Kisii county.
