Two dialysis centres opened in city

more-inTo meet increasing burden of kidney disease in the city, two dialysis centres were inaugurated at area hospitals on Tuesday. Health Minister C. Laxma Reddy inaugurated the centres at area hospitals in Vanasthalipuram and Malakpet, which earlier did not have dialysis facility. “We are setting up single-use dialysis equipment in hospitals, which is a first in India,” Dr. Reddy claimed while speaking at Vanasthalipuram Area Hospital. According to the Helping Hand Foundation, an NGO that assists patients in government hospitals, complaints of transmission of infections from repeated use of dialysis equipment has plagued dialysis centres in State.
